News: While changes have occurred in the administration of the forum, the goal remains the open and uncensored exchange of information. I intend to keep this forum alive, well and growing. I also am working on a Carriage facebook page for those that would like to participate in that venue as well.   Please join, post, chat and
if necessary have an occasional issue, but feel free to air your joys, stories, issues and angst freely and without fear of censorship. We are a family, and as we all know, families love, share and fight as part and parcel of being human.   This is the members forum first and foremost, and I intend to keep it as such, no matter occasional criticism coming down the pike.

Dale, well documented and lots of neat info....thanks for posting.  I have been wondering about the axle flip as well as I have drug my rear once and did not like that feeling.  Luckily all I did was scrape the top surface off the gelcoat and did not loosen or significantly damage the rear cap, but I would really like to prevent that from happening again.....of course better driving decisions on my part to not enter/exit an area that is too steep now also helps!!

Pretty neat things you did.  Since we're re-doing our Carriage inside and out, will have to check your site once in awhile to see if we can glean anything from you. Wink It's an ongoing job to keep our "homes" fresh and new looking but we just absolutely love our lifestyle.  Diana

Dale, thanks for posting. Your site has given me many hours of reading. Seeing what you've done has given me confidence to tackle some things myself.

We love our new Cameo 35SB3. All kinds of options and features we didn't have on our old unit. However, we've made a few changes to make it just right for us. The king mattress just took up way too much room in the bedroom. The DW had a heck of a time making the bed. Yes, I help too (sometimes). We replaced the king with a Serta queen mattress from Sam's Club, so much more room on either side of the bed now. I'm in the process of installing 4 X 6V deep cycle batteries and a 1500W inverter, we do a lot of boondocking in the summer months. I added a 110V outlet where the fireplace would have been powered. This is a dedicated circuit, we have a 1500W heater plugged in there now. My wife's desk and filing cabinet are now where the dining table were. I had to rotate the ceiling light 90 degrees because I kept hitting my head. As soon as we get back home we'll store the sofa, the desk will go there. The table will go back to it's original location. I want to install two solar panels but absolutely hate the idea of holes in the roof. I installed them on our old unit with no problems, so I'll do it eventually. I installed towel racks and a toilet paper holder in the bathroom. Odd there wasn't a tp holder, I guess we overlooked it when we were buying the unit. Got it home and no place for the TP. Anyway, it was a fun job and turned out perfectly. When we get back home in late March I'm going to measure our Lazy Boy recliners. I think they may fit where the theater seats are now.
