Hello, I'm going to be a new owner of a 37 RE3 Cameo. My wife and I are very excited and can't wait for the weather to break. This is a new 2009 and I have one question about the roof. I climbed the ladder to look at the top and seen that the rear left corner has some slight ripples in it. I asked the dealer about it and he said that was nothing to worry about. I was just wanting to know if anyone has had this condition on there fifth wheel. The dealer I am working with, are very good, I just want to make sure before I get the trailer, it is correct. Maybe we will see some of you on the road this year, we can't wait. Thanks for any response I can get.

Hello,

Back in January, I took delivery on an "off the lot" new 09 37RE3, and mine also has those ripples.

I was similarly told by the dealer (Carolina Coach and Camper -- who gets a strong thumbs up from me) that they are normal, and will even change a little with the seasons (hot and cold).

Curious to other's thoughts.

Best,
  Dru

Our 2009 Cameo also has the ripples.  My dealer assured me it was okay.  But......I contacted the manufacturer of the vinyl and was guaranteed there would be no problem.  Apparently this vinyl has a stiff felt backing and just not as pliable as the rubber roofs.  Oh, it's so much cleaner!!!!

I just picked up my new 32FWS 2 weeks ago and mine has ripples on the edges as well.  I have not asked the dealer as I don't think they have to much technical knowledge about the rig but it is good to know now that the ripples seem to be normal.

Sounds like this is a normal condition, thanks for all the replies. We are now just waiting for the weather to break in Michigan, so we can start using the new camper  Cheesy

I have the same, ripples along the outside for I was told that is because they cannot stretch the vinyl as rubber on installation. I'm good with that for I did have had the rubber on three other fifth wheels and I find the vinyl a lot easier to clean and to keep clean.

My question is has anyone noticed the roof decking at the joints under the vinyl roof not level? Decking is installed on the width and every 4ft on the length there is a joint showing...I have about three joints showing at the moment. I'm starting to get some lumps showing up at a couple different locations for I try to wash the roof at least twice a year which gives me a chance to check the caulking and anything else at the same time.

I have e-mailed Kent at Carriage and he responded the very next morning that he or his foreman will look at it when we are passing by on our return trip home at the end of April and if necessary an appt. to be booked for a later date.

Good point.  Our decking seams are also showing.  We have an appt. to get the tanks switched out at the factory and will request that they check it out.  Please let us know what you find out.

I got the same ripples along the roof. Where I got ours they had a Carriage representative look at it and he said no problem. I went on the roof before buying and all the other Carriage fiver were the same.  I looked at Heartland before deciding on the Cameo and everyone I looked at was perfect.  Do I use the same cleaners as with a rubber roof ?

Carriage roofs are TPO vinyl made by Alpha Systems, Inc.  To read more about cleaning and care
